Ministries

There are a variety of ministries that you can be involved in here at Good News Baptist Church. We invite you to come and be a part of a ministry that will help you grow in your spiritual journey.

Sunday mornings after the worship and preaching service, we divide into groups to discuss the application of what has just been preached. Knowing what the Bible says is important, but life application is essential for growth and maturity. Join us for these discussion-based Life Groups.

Our teen ministry is headed up by Dusty and Ashley Beasley. They will soon be joined by Paul and Megan Pestel. They minister to the teens on Sunday mornings during their Life Group time as well as on Wednesday evenings during the teen Bible study. Good News Teens also have activities outside the church; for more information on those, see Dusty Beasley.

Our Sunday mornings children’s ministry is in high gear! Your children from Pre-K through 5th grade will enjoy learning a Bible story in their class. Our amazing teachers and helpers will reinforce the principles of the lesson with games, reviews, crafts, and handouts that each child will take home.

On Wednesday evenings, students will dive deep into a different book of the Bible every month. Every last Wednesday of the month there will be a fun theme night that children can participate in.

Babies from birth to 3 years old will be cared for by our loving volunteers in a clean and safe environment during the services.

Music Ministry

We believe that worshipping through music and song is of the utmost importance. God is worthy of all of our praise, and here at GNBC we love to sing His praises! The music ministry is made up of rotating teams of singers and musicians that lead the congregation in worship. We like to regularly introduce new songs, but you can get familiar with our upcoming worship set by listening to our playlist here.

Community Outreach

We do not live in a bubble. Cedar Rapids is our community, and the members of GNBC wish to impact it with the love of Jesus Christ. If you are interested in community outreach, whether it be to our schools, first responders, neighborhoods, or just a family that could use a little extra love, we have opportunities for you to serve God with us as we serve those around us.
